About Us

Meggin & Jacob
Jacob and Meggin met in Utah in 1999 through a mutual friend. They dated for ~5 months before Meggin left to serve a mission in Brazil for 1.5 years. Through a series of fateful events, they were eventually married in the Oakland LDS Temple on October 12, 2002. They recently relocated from OH to IA to attend dental school at the University of Iowa.

Memorable Moments

I've been meaning to document all the funny/crazy things that the girls say and do on a more regular basis and have decided that keeping an on-going list on my blog would be the best way to do it....

1.24.12 Celeste and Amelia like to pretend that they're pirates on a pirate ship. Celeste even uses pirate jargon like, "Trim the sails, mateys!", etc. While they were playing in the living room today, they were holding a hand over their eyes as they pretended to be looking for other ships at sea. Imagine our surprise when Celeste said, with her hand over her eyes scanning the horizon, "Where's the freaking boat?!"... A few days earlier she had told me that she "freaking liked me" as we were getting ready for bed and I didn't quite know how to respond because she always says that she likes us, but has never used the word "freaking" before! We've had some good laughs over her use of this new word...Jacob now realizes how much he uses the word himself...!

1.29.12 One of Amelia's nursery teachers told Jacob today at church that even though they're not supposed to have 'favorites' in nursery, that Amelia is their favorite! She said that Amelia is always so happy and good at playing with the other kids. Of course, that made us beam with parental pride!
